Waves Early Learning Environments
Children may engage in play-based learning in a variety of safe, challenging environments on our expansive, shaded playground. There are both rooms for peaceful play and areas for active play. Children are encouraged to explore their surroundings and build secure, respectful, and reciprocal connections by engaging with one another and educators. We include vegetable and bush tucker gardens, a cubby house for dramatic play, worm farms and compost bins, and a hive of native stingless bees. The ability of children to pick their activities promotes environmental consciousness and responsibility.
Our classrooms provide a secure, predictable atmosphere with a range of stimulating activities that help children to explore new possibilities and build a feeling of belonging. To maximise children's participation and sensation of amazement, the selection of resources and materials is meticulous.
Room Overview at Waves Early Learning Service
At Waves ELS, we are proud to offer two thoughtfully designed learning environments that reflect the unique developmental stages and interests of the children in our care.
Across both rooms, our educators provide engaging, age-appropriate opportunities that foster a strong sense of belonging, agency, and joy in learning.
Gawura Room
Our Preschool Room is specifically designed for children who are eligible to attend school in two years, based on the July 31st cutoff. This space offers a rich and engaging environment that promotes school readiness while nurturing creativity, independence, and a love for learning. Children in this room have access to a wide range of high-quality, age-appropriate resources including electronic kits, coding activities, light tables, and fine motor tools such as beading, threading, and construction materials. Experiences are intentionally planned to challenge thinking, support emerging literacy and numeracy, and build social-emotional confidence. Educators guide children through project-based learning, problem-solving opportunities, and collaborative play, supporting their journey as capable and confident learners
